Atma Ram Sanatan Dharma College (ARSD College), formerly Sanatan Dharma College, is a co-educational best constituent college of the University of Delhi.[1] The college was founded on August 3, 1959 by the Sanatan Dharma Sabha, Delhi. Late Shri Atma Ram Chadha, a well-known philanthropist, took over as chairman of the college governing body in 1967. The current chairman is Shri Pawan Jaggi.[2]

Nimbus

The college has an active debating society, Nimbus (The Debaters),[3] helping students learn the art of debating and speaking their mind fearlessly. In the recently published annual report from year 2012, The Debaters talks about its aim to bud visionary leaders. The society saw a major restructuring in the same year and has won tremendous popularity in college as well as university debating circuits.

Rangayan

Its dramatics society, Rangayan, has performed many plays and dramas. Their most recent work was the play Dilli Chalo by Utpal Dutta. The society have won many inter college as well as inter university prizes and certifications both at state as well as national level.

NCC

ARSD NCC is one of the most active student bodies of the college. The college maintains two platoons of NCC (Army Wing) where both boys and girl are welcomed. Every year, cadets from the NCC units of college are selected to participate in the prestigious Republic Day parade. Cadets have also been selected for youth change programs and participated in drills in China and Sri Lanka.[4] A remarkable number of Armed forces Officers and soldiers hailed from college.

Publication

The college brings out a magazine “Udayachal” every year. It contains articles, writings, stories, essays etc. contributed by the students and staff. The magazine showcases the educational, research, cultural and sports activities of the college. It has a section each in English , Hindi and Sanskrit.[5]
