"A Bay Bay" is a song by American rapper Hurricane Chris from his debut studio album 51/50 Ratchet. It was released on May 28, 2007, as the album's debut single.
With the production handled by Phunk Dawg (who made this catchy, up-tempo and club-oriented southern hip hop track), it allowed this song to be peaked at number 7 on the US Billboard Hot 100.[1][2][3]
Commercial performance
The song debuted at number 95 on the US Billboard Hot 100.[4] In its second week, the song came down even further at number 85 on the chart. In its third week, the song came down even much further at number 24 on the chart.[5] The song had officially reached at number 7 on the chart.
Critical reception
According to Billboard, the phrase "A Bay Bay" was heard from this song for over a total of 67 times.
Music video
The video was shot and filmed at the streets of Cedar Grove, showing each cites on local landmarks of the whole neighborhood, with the crowd of people singing along to the song. The music video peaked at number one on the most-popular show BET's 106 & Park. Closing out the year, the music video peaked at number 3 on the BET's Top 100 Videos of 2007.
Remixes
The remix of "A Bay Bay", titled "The Ratchet Remix", features guest vocals by these fellow rappers from The Game, Lil Boosie, E-40, Baby, Angie Locc (who is representing from the group, called "The Lava House") and Jadakiss. In 2007, the music video was released for "A Bay Bay (The Ratchet Remix)". There are two versions of both on these music videos. The shortened version features all of these artists (with their verses) were included, except for E-40. However, E-40 made it only to be a part amongst these cameo appearances; including Pitbull, and Lil Jon.[3] The music video for the extended version, E-40 was presented, along with his verse that he made for this remix. A fellow rapper, Big Kuntry King, created his own remix to the song. Sincero, Chingo Bling and Pitbull, made their own versions, titled "'Aye Wey Wey".
