The Ballbreaker World Tour was a rock concert tour played by the hard rock band AC/DC, which had 5 legs around the world lasting 11 months starting on 12 January 1996 in Greensboro, NC finishing on 30 November 1996 in Christchurch, New Zealand.
Background
The tour saw the return of drummer Phil Rudd to the lineup making it his first tour with the group since 1981's For Those About to Rock tour.
Live footage can be found on the DVD No Bull , filmed at Plaza de Toros Las Ventas, Madrid, Spain during the tour. A few more shows were released on the DVD box set Plug Me In released in 2007.
Four shows were postponed in the early leg so Brian Johnson could attend his father's funeral.
A video was played at the beginning of each concert featuring Beavis and Butt-head attempting to get into the band's dressing room, only to be chased away by a female security guard sent by Angus Young.
Each concert on the tour started with a large wrecking ball 'destroying' part of the stage, forming a gap in the stage, where the band would emerge before playing "Back in Black." During the song "Ballbreaker," Brian Johnson would climb onto the top of the wrecking ball to sing. At the beginning of "Highway to Hell," the wrecking ball would drop onto the floor of the stage creating a "hole to hell," after which Angus Young would emerge from the hole in a cage from hell before playing the song.
