Barbara Brewster

Barbara Brewster (1918-2005) was an American actress and dancer, and the twin sister of Gloria Brewster.[1][2] Barbara was born Naomi Jane Stevenson.[1] Barbara and Gloria were discovered at the San Diego County Fair by a studio official from 20th Century Fox.[1] They appeared in nine films in the late 1930s and early 1940s, and were called "the Most Beautiful Twins in America" and billed as The Brewster Twins.[1][3] They were under contract to 20th Century Fox, and toured with the Three Stooges in 20th Century Fox promotions.[1] They also appeared as Stuart Morgan Dancers in High Kickers on Broadway in 1941.[2][4]

Barbara performed without Gloria (after Gloria's retirement from acting) in plays in New York alongside Sophie Tucker, Montgomery Clift, and other celebrities.[3][1]

She and Gloria entertained members of the military during World War II at USO shows.[1] Barbara met her future husband, Bob LeMond, at a USO while he was stationed in New Caledonia, and married him in 1946.[5] After her marriage she became a homemaker and mother.[1] She and Bob eventually had three children together.[6]

She died of congestive heart failure and pneumonia at age 87.[1]
