Gloria Brewster

Gloria Brewster (1918-1996) was an American actress and dancer, and the twin sister of Barbara Brewster.[1][2][3][1] Gloria was born Ruth Stevenson.[3] Gloria and Barbara were discovered at the San Diego County Fair by a studio official from 20th Century Fox.[3] They appeared in nine films in the late 1930s and early 1940s, and were called "the Most Beautiful Twins in America" and billed as The Brewster Twins.[3][4] They were under contract to 20th Century Fox, and toured with the Three Stooges in 20th Century Fox promotions.[3] In 1940 they appeared in "Twincuplets," with twins Claude and Clarence Stroud; Gloria later married Claude Stroud, and stopped acting after her marriage.[3] She and Barbara appeared as Stuart Morgan Dancers in High Kickers on Broadway in 1941.[2][1] They also entertained members of the military during World War II at USO shows.[3]
