Battle Ax[3] is a shield volcano in the Cascade Range of Oregon. The shield is mostly made of andesite.[4] The summit is in the Bull of the Woods Wilderness and can be reached by the Battle Ax Mountain trail.[5]

Battle Ax was supposedly named after the variety of chewing tobacco used by a local logger.[6]
