Qarakənd (Armenian: Բերդաշեն, Berdashen) (also Kara Kana, and Karakend) is a village in the Martuni Province of Nagorno-Karabakh and Khojavend Rayon of Azerbaijan. Berdashen means "village of the fortress" in Armenian. Qarakənd means "black village" in the Caucasian Turkic.
