Bharti Enterprises is an Indian business conglomerate headquartered in New Delhi, India. It was founded in 1976 by Sunil Bharti Mittal and it operates in 20 countries across Asia and Africa. Bharti Enterprises owns businesses spanning across telecommunications, retail, financial services and manufacturing.
History
The company was founded by Sunil Bharti Mittal with his two siblings in 1976. The company started with manufacturing bicycles before diversifying into other sectors. It entered into telecommunications industry in 1995.

Bharti Airtel
Bharti Airtel Ltd is the third largest mobile operator in the world, in subscriber base, and has a presence in 20 countries. The company is India’s largest integrated telecom company in customer base and offers mobile, fixed line, broadband, IPTV, DTH and enterprise services.
Bharti Infratel
In India, Bharti Infratel owns 33,446 towers across 11 circles. It plans to spend ₹1,086 crore to set up 4,813 new towers. Bharti Infratel also has a 42% stake in Indus towers.[1]
Bharti Retail
Bharti Retail is a wholly owned subsidiary of Bharti Enterprises. Bharti Retail operates a chain of multiple format stores. The company’s neighborhood format stores operate under the Easyday brand and the compact hypermarket format under the 'Easy day market' brand. Recently the company has become more involved in the food economic sectors, with a joint partnership in the agricultural company FieldFresh.[2]
Future Group, that owns and operate Big Bazaar, combined retail operations with Easyday in May 2015. The merger has created one of India's biggest retail chains with more than 570 stores in 243 cities in India.[3]
Bharti TeleTech
Bharti Teletech is India’s leading telecom and allied products company. It is one of the world's largest manufacturers of land-line telephones. With a strong distribution network across the country, the company is the primary distributor of IT and telecom products from international brands such as Motorola, Blackberry, Thomson, Polycom, Transcend, and Logitech.[4]
FieldFresh Foods
FieldFresh Foods is a joint venture between Bharti Enterprises and DMPL India Ltd. (a subsidiary of Del Monte Pacific Ltd.). The company offers fresh fruits and vegetables and processed foods and beverages in the domestic and international markets.
Bharti AXA General Insurance and Life Insurance
Bharti AXA is a joint venture between Bharti Enterprises and AXA, world leader in financial protection and wealth management. They offer a range of life insurance and wealth management products.
Centum Learning
Centum Learning (formerly Bharti Learning Systems Limited), a wholly owned subsidiary of Bharti Enterprises, is a learning and development organisation that specializes in customer experience. Its learning centres are active across 169 cities in 20 countries including India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and 17 others in Africa that are helping people to develop skills and get them employed.
Bharti Foundation
Bharti Foundation was set up in 2000. It aims to create and support programs that bring about sustainable changes through education and the use of technology and information.
Bharti Realty
Bharti Realty is the in-house real estate arm for Bharti Group and facilitates by extending support to the Group Companies for identifying, developing and maintaining real estate.
Former companies
Bharti Walmart
Bharti Enterprises tied-up with Walmart for opening a chain of retail stores all over India. The companies, in August 2007, made a surprise statement that they have signed a wholesale cash-and-carry deal. The first Best Price Modern Wholesale opened in Amritsar in May 2010. This partnership has now been ended by Walmart.
Bharti Foods Inc.
In 1979, Bharti tried to create their own line of Indian food titled "Bharti, Bharti". The food was popular in Jaipur, but the popularity died down after 1991.
