Bhatni Bazar is a town and a nagar panchayat in Deoria district in the state of Uttar Pradesh, India.

Geography

Bhatani Bazar is a small town in Deoria district of the state Uttar Pradesh in India.It is located at and has an average elevation of 57 metres. Bhatni is divided into two markets one is known as Nooriganj Bazar (It is said that Noori miya has built this market) and other is Hatwa Bazar which is comparatively larger than nooriganj Bazar. These two markets are connected by Sugar Mill and railway colonies. Bhatni is also a nagar panchayat and development block in Deoria district. In the north of it are small towns like khoribari rampur,Balua afgan & Ghantee bazar , in South-Peokol,Bharauli & Bharthua, in East uska,Nonapar,Bharhe Chaura & Sawrezi, in West- Noonkhar,Pipra-devraj.

Demographics

As of 2001 India census,[1] Bhatni Bazar also known as Hatwa Bazar. Bhatni Bazar had a population of 14,381. Males constitute 52% of the population and females 48%. Bhatni Bazar has an average literacy rate of 64%, higher than the national average of 59.5%; with a male literacy rate of 76% and a female literacy rate of 52%. 16% of the population is under 6 years of age. There is an intermediate college named Subhash Intermediate College in the heart of town. This is Oldest college in the vicinity of 10km area. A government Junior High School is located in Hatwa. There are two small markets, as well as a sugar factory in [htt and a small river named Chhoti Gandak. Nooriganj is situated between Chhoti Gandak and Bhatni railway station. It is served by a rail route, as well as a national highway, which is located 8 km from town. Bhatni Bazar is approximately 1 km from Bhatni railway junction. From there, vehicle services are provided to reach nearby villages. Here there is an intermediate college named Maninath Inter College. Jalpa mandir & Mathiya mandir & Darbare Maula Ali is famous of Bhatni. In 1999 one of its village Jigna Dixit known for its 12-month continued recitation of Bhagwan Ram. A recent notification order issued from the Government of Uttar Pradesh in the year March, 2016 directing to include the village Chandpar, Tappa- Barsipar into Nagar Panchayat jurisdiction of Bhatni.

Language

Languages used by people of Bhatni are bhojpuri, hindi. But most common is Bhojpuri. Nowadays English is being used by young generation.

Education

In Past, Bhatni had only few schools like- Subhash Intermediate College. But now this small town has more than 15 schools. Many Schools and colleges serves the purpose of the education in the area. Some of notified schools which impart education are:- ST. XAVIER'S SCHOOL, PRINCE PUBLIC SCHOOL, K.K. PUBLIC SCHOOl. Government colleges include SUBHASH INTERMEDIATE COLLEGE. Other degree colleges are- Sita Devi Mahavidayalaya, affiliated to D.D.U. Gorakhpur and Bahadur Yadav Memorial Degree College.

Tourist spots

Being a small town, Bhatni lacks magnificent tourist attractions. There are Famous temples like- Maa Jalpa Devi temple, Mahadeva Mela, Choti Gandak are the only known places of tourism. It attracts people from the local areas of U.P and Bihar. One can hangout at Bank of River Chhoti Gandak in the evening.
