Big Gigantic is an instrumental livetronica, hip-hop and jazz musical group based out of Boulder, Colorado. They combine electronic beats with live saxophone and drums instrumentation.[1]

Live performances

They have played at a wide range of large-scale music festivals, including Paradiso Festival, Bonnaroo, Firefly Music Festival, Camp Bisco, Moonrise Festival, Wakarusa, Ultra Music Festival, Lollapalooza Brazil, All Good Music Festival, Electric Forest Festival, Freepress Summerfest, Mountain Jam, Freakfest, Summer Camp Music Festival, Lollapalooza, North Coast Music Festival, SnowBall Music Festival, Shambhala Music Festival, Austin City Limits, Global Dance Festival, Gathering of the Vibes, SummerSet Music Festival, Hangout Festival, Voodoo Festival, Governors Ball Music Festival, Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, Suwannee Hulaween, Peach Fest 2014 in Scranton, PA and CounterPoint Music Festival among others.[2]

Their dynamic live performance is enhanced by their constantly evolving lighting, stage design and production for a full audio-sensory experience. Big Gigantic has toured the country numerous times, playing to a majority of sold-out crowds across the US. Recently, Big G has played live shows in the UK and Australia, with plans to continue their international expansion in 2014.

Members

Both members have extensive backgrounds in music. Lalli holds a Masters Degree from the Manhattan School of Music and Salken has been a touring musician, including with the Victor Barnes Bluegrass Band, which is currently in hiatus.[3]

Side projects

Gigantic Underground Conspiracy - a Jam/Electronica supergroup composed of members from Big Gigantic, the Disco Biscuits and Underground Orchestra. The group has played various one-off live shows. Recently Big Gigantic has collaborated with GRiZ and Gramatik to form Big Grizmatik[4] [5]

Charity Work

In August 2014, Big G partnered with EDM lifestyle brand Electric Family to produce a collaboration bracelet for which 100% of the proceeds are donated to Conscious Alliance. The partnership has raised over $3k as of October 2014. Conscious Alliance is a Boulder, Colorado based national 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization committed to distributing much-needed food to communities across the United States, and providing long-term solutions to hunger by focusing on empowerment programs for youth in impoverished regions of the country.[6]
