Bill Ward (actor)
Bill Ward (born 1967, Newcastle upon Tyne) is an English actor who played Charlie Stubbs in Coronation Street. He is a former advertising executive.

In 1996, Bill appeared in EastEnders as Cindy Beale's hitman,John Vandercue, the man who shot Ian in Turpin Road in the black Volvo car.
He has made three appearances in The Bill. In 1995, his character was Micky Sieger, a hitman after Sergeant June Ackland. In 2003, he was an assault victim who worked with the police against a corrupt judge. In 2008, he was in the Too Hot to Handle Christmas special three-parter, where he appeared as an ex-boyfriend of DC Stevie Moss in a case into a drug dealing gang.
Bill also had a small cameo role in the Jonathan Creek episode "Satan's Chimney", as a man who chatted up Julia Sawalha's character Carla Borrego after briefly offending her.
He is 1.80m tall.
Coronation Street
In 2003, Bill joined the cast of Coronation Street portraying local builder Charlie Stubbs. The character has frequently been involved in controversial storylines, including an abusive relationship with former Rovers Return landlady, Shelley Unwin (portrayed by Sally Lindsay).
More recently, Charlie Stubbs has become romantically involved with Tracy Barlow again providing the series with a number of explosive scenes. An example is when Tracy discovers Charlie's affair with hairdresser Maria Sutherland (Samia Smith).
In 2006 Bill Ward announced that he was to leave Coronation Street in an episode to air during 2007.
The plot device required for his exit was provided by the affair with Maria, prompting Tracy to take drastic revenge.
