BioGamer Girl is an internationally distributed US publication dedicated to females in the genres of horror and gaming since 2010.[1][2]

According to the Better Business Bureau of North Alabama, BioGamer Girl is a Limited Liability Corporation and a publisher's magazine that is located in Fyffe, Alabama, United States.[3] BioGamer Girl was founded in 2010 by its Editor-in-Chief Amanda Dyar.[4] BioGamer Girl started as a forum for gaming and horror fans that expanded into additional websites to cover females in the gaming and horror fields.[5] In January 2011 all past issues of the print magazine were uploaded to a third party website to allow the purchase of issues that are sold out or out of print.[6] The magazine is available for purchase through the BioGamer Girl website and select stores such as Gaming, Etc. in Fort Payne, AL with worldwide circulation over 80,000.[7][8]

BioGamer Girl covers horror and gaming in all media: films, websites, books, music, television, comics, radio, etc.[9] Older print issues had a specific theme which all of the stories, reviews, interviews and photos are centered on.[10] The publication's online presence includes gaming challenges held on Xbox Live[11] and its regular broadcast called Undead Noise.[12] The company has also been reviewed by the Better Business Bureau and has a current rating of a A-.[13] The publication has interviewed people in the gaming and horror industries including Adrienne Wilkinson[14] from the television show Xena: Warrior Princess and John A. Russo writer of the classic film Night of the Living Dead.[15] BioGamer Girl has also reported on various horror-themed television shows, such as the The Walking Dead, with interviews with cast members such as Melissa Cowen, Chandler Riggs and Addy Miller.[16] The magazine has also interviewed such notable people in the video game industry as Yoshiaki Hirabayashi,[17] Jesper Kid,[18] Megan Myers,[19] and Dennis Lenart [20] to name a few. BioGamer Girl is currently listed on Game Rankings [21] and runs their own video game blog on Fangoria [22]

Gamer Challenges

BioGamer Girl hosts regularly scheduled gamer challenges on Xbox Live. Gamer challenges are events organized by BioGamer Girl to celebrate both gaming and its fans. BioGamer Girl staff members are present at all gamer challenges, so the events are also a good way for fans of BioGamer Girl to meet the staff of the company. These gamer challenges can last until the party host quits, but they typically last for a several hours. Although most gamer challenges have predetermined schedule of Xbox 360 titles, the video games can be changed to fit the party's preferences. First and foremost, gamer challenges are organized for everyone to have fun in a friendly environment.[23]
