Black Welsh people
Black Welsh people are inhabitants of Wales of African or Caribbean background. Wales is home to one of the United Kingdom's oldest Afro communities, with Tiger Bay in Cardiff housing a large African Somali population from its inception. Nowadays. According to the 2011 census there were 18,276 Welsh African people, amounting to 0.6% of the Welsh population.
Some famous Welsh African people include Shirley Bassey,[1] Vaughan Gething,[2] member of the National Assembly for Wales, Colin Jackson and Benji Webbe.
