Blitchton, Florida

Blitchton is an unincorporated community in Marion County, in the U.S. state of Florida.[1]

History

A post office called Blichton was established in 1888, and remained in operation until it was discontinued in 1917.[2] The communitiy was named for a family of settlers.[3]

Notable person

Jesse J. McCrary, Jr., a Florida Secretary of State, was born in Blichton.[4]
