Bollywood Diaries is a 2016 Indian Hindi-language drama film, written and directed by K.D. Satyam and featuring Raima Sen,[1] Salim Diwan and Ashish Vidyarthi in title roles along with Karuna Pandey and Vineet Kumar Singh in supporting roles. Produced by Dr. Sattar Diwan under the banner of Rehab Pictures Private Limited, Eagle Eye Entertainment LLP as Associate Producer. The film will be distributed by Zee Studios and the digital marketing is being handled by CineMArkets Digital Solutions. The film was released worldwide on February 26, 2016.
Satyam is known for his work as a writer for Gattu,[2] a film that was awarded at the Berlin Film Festival[3] and won another two awards at the Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles.[4] It also became a part of the list of India’s Oscar Nominations in 2012.

The Director of Photography is Dev Agarwal, who has earlier worked in CityLights, and the editing crew is led by Praveen Angre. The dialogues have been written by K.D. Satyam and Anand VRS Tomar. Dr. Sagar has written the lyrics for all the songs in the film. The music in this film is directed by Vipin Patwa while the background score has been composed by Dev Guru. The crew also includes Shrjil Khan as Choreographer, Nilesh S. Gorkshe as Art Director, Tony Arora as Line Producer, Ajay Kumar P.B. as Sound Mixing Engineer and Mayank Dixit as Casting Director.
Plot
Bollywood Diaries is about three unrelated individuals – a guy working at a call-center in Delhi, a middle-aged government servant from Bhilai and a prostitute from Sonagachi,[5] Kolkata. All three of them aspire to become Bollywood actors and the movie captures their journey and struggles. Imli played by Raima Sen is a prostitute from Sonagachi, Kolkata. Rohit played by Salim Diwan is a call-centre employee who wants to be a part of Bollywood. Vishnu played Ashish Vidyarthi is a retired government servant who wants to join Bollywood after retirement.
Production
Filming
Principal photography of the film began in October 2014 and the shooting started the month after that.[6] The film was shot in Bhilai, Kolkata and Delhi. During the filming, Ashish Vidyarthi suffered a mishap when he nearly drowned in river Shivnath before being rescued by a policeman.[7]
Release
The first trailer of the movie was released on 12 Jan 2016.[8] The film was released on 26 February 2016 across India.
Critical Response
