Jeon Boram (Hangul: 전보람), simply known as Boram is a South Korean singer and actress. She is a member of the South Korean girl group T-ara.

1986-2008: Early life

Boram was born on March 22, 1986.[1] Her father is Jeon Youngrok, who was a hugely popular singer in South Korea in the 1970s and 1980s. Her mother is Lee Mi-young, a well-known actress. She is a third-generation artist in Korea as both her grandfather, Hwang Hae, and grandmother, Baek Sul Hee, were both famous singers. Her younger sister, Wooram, is a member of a Korean girl group called D-Unit.[2][3]

Boram has studied at the Myungji University, enrolling in the Department of Theatre and Visual Arts, same as group member Qri.

Solo debut

Boram released one album and a single prior to her debut in T-ara. "From Memory" was released in November 14, 2008[4] and "Lucifer Project Vol 1. 愛" was released in April 15, 2008.[5]

T-ara

Boram was contacted by the CEO of Core Contents Media after he watched a video clip of Boram dancing to BoA's "My Name". In mid-2009, Boram was became the first member joined to T-ara after two member Jiae and Jiwon withdrawal from the group.

It was announced on July 15, 2010 that she will take over Eunjung's position as the second leader of T-ara, following the addition of new member Hwayoung.[6]

QBS

Qri, Boram and Soyeon formed a subgroup called QBS in May 2013. The subgroup focused on the Japanese market. The subgroup release their debut single titled "Kaze no You ni" (風のように, Like the Wind) on June 26, 2013.

Solo activities

In 2010, she was cast in a one-episode film of KBS's Purple Heeled Grim Reaper is Coming.

In 2011, she was involved in a musical called "I Really Really Like You" with her father. Boram passed on her leadership to fellow member Hyomin in July 2011.[7]
