Borghetto Santo Spirito is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Savona in the Italian region Liguria, located about 70 kilometres (43 mi) southwest of Genoa and about 30 kilometres (19 mi) southwest of Savona. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 5,316 and an area of 5.3 square kilometres (2.0 sq mi).[1]
Borghetto Santo Spirito borders the following municipalities: Boissano, Ceriale, Loano, and Toirano.
The town is noted, in the general context of the Riviera, as a nasty example of urban explosion, with tall apartment buildings of heavy visual impact built in the 1960s and 1970s, in contrast with the "softer" approach in architecture and urban planning followed by most nearby Comuni. It's crossed by the Varatella.
