Early death

Taylor died of a heart attack at the age of 38, in 1980. The Sun newspaper covered the story in an article with the headline "Mr Muscles Dies..at 38". In the article, family and friends attributed Taylor's death to the stress of running his own health studio, which left him having to carry out his own rigorous training programme late into the night after the studio had closed. He suffered a mild heart attack earlier that year after competing in the Mr. Britain contest.
