Broiler is a Norwegian DJ and electronic music duo consisting of Mikkel Christiansen (born 1992) and Simen Auke (born 1991). From 2011 to 2013, they were known as DJ Broiler. They found success online in late 2011 as "DJ Broiler", becoming an internet phenomenon due to their dance tunes with comical elements, but have since gone over to focusing on professional remixing and own songs without comedy.

Music career

Early career

Christiansen had some success with "Navy Seals" featuring F. Genius in 2011, while Auke had major success with his song "Cannabus" under the pseudonym SimenA. "Cannabus" charted on the Norwegian Singles Chart for two weeks, peaking at 15.

2012–13: The Beginning

DJ Broiler released several singles and got famous for their funny videos, which often portrayed and parodied the life in the suburbs and local cities around Drammen.[1] They released "Afterski" in November 2012, which instantly became a hit and charted on the Norwegian Singles Chart, and peaked at number 3.[2] In May 2013 they released "Vannski" peaking at number 1 in their third week charting. "Vannski" became their first number one hit in Norway. In June 2013 they released "En gang til", peaking to number 8 on the Norwegian Singles Chart. on November 4, 2013 they released their debut studio album The Beginning, peaking to number 9 on the Norwegian Albums Chart, the album also includes the single "Bonski", which has peaked to number 5 on the Norwegian Singles Chart. On November 29, 2013 the released Episode 1 EP, peaking to number 19 on the Norwegian Albums Chart, the album includes the single "Colors", which has peaked to number 18 on the Norwegian Singles Chart.
