Bruce Menin (born c. 1963) is an American businessman. He is the co-founder of Crescent Heights, a real estate development company based in Miami Beach, Florida.
Early life
Bruce Menin was born circa 1963 in Miami Beach, Florida.[1] His father, Barry Menin, is a former stockbroker for Shearson Lehman Brothers.[1] His mother, Miriam, is the former owner of a driver's license plate business.[1]
Menin graduated from Harvard University.[1] He received a master's degree in economics from the University of Sydney,[1] and a law degree from the Northwestern University School of Law.[2]
Career
Menin co-founded Crescent Heights, a real estate development company with his cousin, Russell W. Galbut, and billionaire investor Sonny Kahn, in 1989.[3] In 2013, they acquired a building at 165 East 66th Street in Lenox Hill on the Upper East Side for US$230 million to remodel it into condominiums; they were sued over allegations of tenant evictions.[4] In 2015, he sold the historic Hotel Paris on the Upper West Side of Manhattan for US$150 million.[5]
Personal life
Menin is married to Julie Menin, who serves as the Commissioner of the New York City Department of Consumer Affairs under Mayor Bill de Blasio.[2]

It was in New York, where she had come to work in-house for Colgate Palmolive, that Ms. Menin met her husband, Bruce Menin. A fellow Northwestern Law grad five years her senior, he had been converting rentals into condos in his native Miami Beach since 1989 with his cousin.
