The CCGS Ernest Lapointe, built in 1940, was a long time vessels serving in the Canadian Coast Guard (CCG) Fleet at 38 years.[2]
Remaining operational for 38 years, the Ernest Lapointe was finally decommissioned in 1978. The vessel now serves as a museum ship for the Maritime Museum of Quebec.[2]
