Café de Coral (Chinese: 大家樂; pinyin: dà jiā lè) is a fast food franchise based in Hong Kong owned by the Café de Coral group. The chain is one of the largest and most popular fast food chains in Hong Kong with more than 120 restaurants in operation (as of March 2004).[1] It was established in 1968 and today caters to about 300,000 people on an average day.

In February 2006, it announced that it would spend approximately HK$100 million in introducing its new 4G design of its restaurants. This would renovate its restaurants to include plasma televisions, chromatic mirrors, and Italian marble and leather upholstery.[2]

Cuisine

Both typical Chinese and international dishes are offered. The restaurant offers breakfast during the morning, lunch during the noon hours, tea time meals during the afternoon and dinner during the night. All plates, cups, and bowls are made from melamine resin and are washed and reused.

Locations

The restaurant operates in all urban and town areas of Hong Kong. In commercial districts, there might be three to four in an area. In new towns, branches often opened in major shopping centres, including those of public housing estates. In Mainland China, Cafe de Coral has spread to Guangzhou, Zhuhai, Shenzhen, Dongguan, Zhongshan, Jiangmen, Foshan, Macau, Shanghai, and is quickly moving to other cities.

Most Cafe de Coral restaurants operate between 07:00 and 22:00, except for a restaurant in the Hong Kong International Airport, which is the only branch operates for 24 hours in Hong Kong.
