According to the final quota allocation released on January 20, 2014, The Cayman Islands had one athlete in qualification position.[6] Dow Travers injured himself in training two weeks before the games. The injury required stitches and prevented him from training.[7] Dow Travers crashed during the giant slalom competition (being among the 30 athletes who did not complete the race). Due to the crash he suffered a mild concussion.[8]
