Central Lafourche High School (CLHS) is a public high school serving students in grades 9 through 12 in Mathews, Louisiana, USA about 45 miles southwest of New Orleans. It is one of three high schools in the Lafourche Parish Public Schools district.[2]

History

The school is a consolidation of the former Raceland High School and Lockport High School, and it was established by the Lafourche Parish School Board in 1965, as a three-year, co-educational senior high school built at a cost of almost $2,000,000. The school became a reality with the 1966-1967 school session. Until the building was completed, the school was housed in temporary facilities on the campus of the former Lockport High School. The Ninth Grade and Pre G.E.D./Skills Option Programs were added to the Central Lafourche Curriculum in 2001-2002 school years.[3]
