Chahar Borj (Persian: چهاربرج; also Romanized as Chahār Borj; also known as Chahār Borj-e Qadīm (Persian: چهار برج قدیم) and Chahār Borj-e Bālā; formerly, Charbish and Charbysh)[1] is a city in and the capital of Marhemetabad District, in Miandoab County, West Azerbaijan Province, Iran. It is 23 kilometres (14 mi) from the south shore of Lake Urmia and 21 kilometres (13 mi) northwest of the city of Miandoab. At the 2006 census, its population was 7,940, in 1,937 families.[2]
