Charles Fernando Basílio da Silva or simply Charles (born February 14, 1985 in Rio de Janeiro), is a Brazilian defensive midfielder currently playing for the Brazilian Cruzeiro at the Brazilian Série A.
Career
Charles arrived at Cruzeiro in October 2003, at age 18, to defend the junior team. Was loaned to Ipatinga in 2005, when he won the State Championship. The next year, defended the Cabofriense and returned to Ipatinga in 2006 and 2007 seasons. Charles returned to Cruzeiro in May 2007 to receive the first opportunity on the professional team, where he remained until the end of August 2008, when 70% of rights traded to Lokomotiv Moscow of Russia.
Charles played 67 games for Cruzeiro and scored 7 goals.
On February 4, 2013, Charles, in an exchange for Luan, signed for Palmeiras until the end of season.[1]
