Christian Heritage School (Longview, Texas)

Christian Heritage School (CHS) is a coeducational[1] private school with Christian affiliations in Longview, Texas.[2] It was founded in 1994 and offers classes from kindergarten to the twelfth grade with an enrollment of approximately 240 students. Its mascot is the Sentinel.
Location
CHS is located in the state of Texas north of the city of Longview on a 10 acre campus. Facilities include science and computer labs as well as a soccer field and an indoor basketball court.
Academics
The average staff to student ratio at CHS is approximately 1:7 which is below the United States national and Texas state averages. CHS offers multiple College Board Advanced Placement (AP) courses and has had a large number of students receive National Merit honors percentage-wise compared to other schools in the area.[3]
Extra-curricular activities
CHS offers basketball, soccer, volleyball, track and golf as well as choir and strings.
Soccer
In 2012 CHS was the TAPPS (Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools) 2A state champion in soccer.[4] CHS was also a state soccer finalist in 2009 and again in 2010.[5] In 2010, CHS had three players chosen for the TAPPS Fall Soccer All-State first team.[6]
Golf
The CHS golf team of 6; Kade Keith, Colton Greene, Jordan McAlister, Tim Slivensky, Michael Bartlemay; has held the State Title from 2008-2010.
Affiliations
CHS a non-denominational, Christian school. It is affiliated with the National Association of Private Schools (NAPS) and is a member of the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI).[7]
