Chuluo
This article is about the eastern khan. For the western khan with the same title, see Heshana Khan.
Chuluo Khagan (simplified Chinese: 处罗; traditional Chinese: 處羅; pinyin: Chùluo KÄ›hà n, Middle Chinese: (Guangyun) [tÉ•Ê°i̯oË¥lÉ‘Ë© kʰɑ˥ɣɑnË©Ë¥], died 620) was the khagan of the Eastern Turkic Khaganate, and second son of Qimin, former title: Ilteber Shad (Chinese: 俟利弗è¨; pinyin: sìlìfú shè). He succeeded his elder brother Shibi and ruled for 18 months. He married the Sui dynasty's Princess Yicheng (義æˆå…¬ä¸») in heqin, the former wife of Qimin in levirate marriage.
Chuluo is said to have died from illness, possibly poisoned by the Minister of Ceremonies (Chinese: 太常å¿; pinyin: tà ichángqÄ«ng) Zheng Yuanshu (é„元璹).[1]
