The Ciudad Deportiva José Ramón Cisneros Palacios, is the training ground of the Primera Division club Sevilla FC. Located in Seville, it was opened in 1974.
Occupying an area of 250,000 m², it is named in memory of the president of the club during the 1960s José Ramón Cisneros Palacios who had proposed the idea of enlarging the club with new facilities.
The training ground is located at the southeastern outskirts of Seville, on the road to Utrera. The first stage of the structure was launched in 1968 with an area of 125,000 m² (50% of the current area). It was completed in 1974. However, the Ciudad Deportiva has been entirely redeveloped over the time and the total area of the facilities wwas doubled.[1] It is currently headquarters the first team trainings, as well as the official matches of the reserve team Sevilla Atlético.[2]
Facilities
- The Central Stadium of the Cuidad Deportiva: opened in 1987, it has a capacity of 5,100 seats. It is the home stadium of Sevilla Atlético, the reserve team of Sevilla FC.
- 4 grass pitches.
- 3 artificial pitches.
- 1 mini artificial pitch for the Antonio Puerta football school.
- Service centre with gymnasium.
