In 2008, Clara competed in the inaugural Next Star singing competition. She performed Dolly Parton's "I Will Always Love You" and placed second in the competition.

Solo career (2014–present)
Clara has embarked on a solo career and has changed her stage name to Clara Mae.[3] Her first released single was titled Changing Faces.[4] On 12 June 2015 she released the single Avalon.[5]
