Clark Township is one of the twenty-one townships of Tama County, Iowa, United States.

History

Clark Township was organized in 1860. [1]

In 1882, Clark Township was named in honor of Judge Leander Clark. This is documented on page 662 of the book "History of Tama County Iowa, 1883". Here is the full text:

Clark township was so named in honor of Judge Leander Clark. Quite a number of names were proposed among which were "Plain," on account of its level surface, and "Rock Creek," after the creek of that name, but "Clark" was finally decided upon. [2]
