Craig Smith (basketball, born 1972)
Craig Smith is an American college basketball coach, currently the head coach for the University of South Dakota.[1] Smith is a member of Tim Miles' coaching tree,[2] having served as an assistant for Miles at four schools – Mayville State, North Dakota State, Colorado State and Nebraska.[3] Along with his long association with Miles, Smith was a highly-successful head coach at Mayville State from 2004 to 2007. His teams went 72–29 and in 2007 he was named the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) Division II Coach of the Year.[4]
Achievements
In 2007, led 13th seeded Mayville State to the championship game of the NAIA tournament and won NAIA coach of the year honors.
