Recreation

Copake Country Club Situated on 160 acres (0.65 km2) overlooking Copake Lake with scenic views of the Berkshires and Catskills from every hole, Copake Country Club has been in operation since 1921. Touted by the New York Post as one of the “10 hidden gems two hours from New York”, Copake Country Club is overseen by owner, Jon Urban. The entire property has recently completed a major transformation, and is open to the public.

The original design of Copake Country Club dates back to the Golden Age Architect, Devereux Emmet, a founding member of the National Golf Links on Long Island as well as a prolific course designer. Not far from The National, Emmet designed his most noteworthy course, Garden City Golf Club. The course at Copake Country Club is now being carefully evaluated and restored to bring back the time tested strategy and unique design features employed by one of golf's renowned designers.

The clubhouse has a remodeled pro-shop offering golf equipment, clothing, Internet service, and a lounge. Presided over by Chef Glenn Strickling for over 8 years, The Greens restaurant also has views of the fairways incorporated into its contemporary design from both inside and outside areas. The Northeast Theosophical Foundation operates the Pumpkin Hollow Retreat Center.
