Crossocheilus is a genus of fish in the family Cyprinidae. It is distributed in Asia,[1] including China, India, Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand.[2]

A fish of this genus has a large rostral cap on its snout with a fringe of tassel-like fissures covering the upper jaw, a mouth in an inferior position on the snout, and one or two pairs of barbels.[2]

These fish occur in several types of habitat, often fast-flowing rivers with rocky bottoms.[3]
