Curvature is a global company that provides new and pre-owned networking hardware and data center solutions. Headquartered in Santa Barbara, California, the company is an independent reseller of network equipment from Cisco, Juniper, HP, IBM, Arista and other manufacturers and is a Premier member of Dell's PartnerDirect Program. Formerly known as Network Hardware Resale,[1] Curvature offers NetSure® Maintenance, a complete network maintenance program and an alternative to traditional OEM maintenance.[2] The company also offers Servers & Storage, IT asset recovery, network monitoring and technical support services, as well as, a complete line of OEM and branded optical transceivers, memory, cables and accessories.
Curvature provides over 10,000 organizations worldwide with networking and data center equipment and services with access to certified technical and sales support professionals from its US based office locations in Santa Barbara, Sacramento, Portland, Dallas, New York, as well as, from global offices in Amsterdam, London, Singapore, and Tokyo. Founded in 1986, the company was profiled for 10 years in Inc. Magazine Top 500|5000 Companies List.[3]
History
- In 1986, Chuck Sheldon founds the company as Strand Computer Resale in Hermosa Beach, California.
- In 1996, The company renames to Network Hardware Resale.
- In 2000, Company revenue exceeds $20 million and Network Hardware Resale debuts on Inc. Magazine’s Inc. 500 list of the Fastest Growing Privately Held U.S. Companies.
- In 2002, Network Hardware Resale opens Europe headquarters in Amsterdam, including offices, test lab, and order fulfillment facilities.
- In 2004, The company expands the US based headquarters to 30,000 square feet, adding new testing and order fulfillment facilities.
- In 2006, Mike Sheldon becomes CEO, and Pacific Coast Business Times names Network Hardware Resale Private Company of the Year. In that same year, NHR signs their first reseller agreement with Dell Networking to sell new equipment.
- In 2007, the company opens Asia headquarters in Singapore while employee headcount surpasses 200. Also in 2007, Inc. Magazine names Network Hardware Resale to its inaugural America’s 5,000 Fastest Growing Companies list.
- In 2008, NHR becomes ISO 9001:2008 and TL 9000-certified. The company opens additional offices in London and Dallas, Texas. Company revenues reach $185 million. Additionally, Everything Channel's VARBusiness Magazine names Network Hardware Resale to the North America's Top 500 Technology Integrators list.
- In 2010, Network Hardware Resale is named Company of the Year in 2010 at the annual South Coast Business & Technology Awards.[4] The company is profiled in Inc. Magazine's 5,000 list as one of America's Fastest Growing Private Companies for the 3rd time.
- The company launches the NetSure® hardware maintenance program.[5]
- In 2011, new facilities in Goleta, California (100,000 square feet) and Amsterdam greatly expand Network Hardware Resale's capacity. That same year, Network Hardware Resale topped $230 million in revenue[6] and was inducted into VARBusiness Magazine's top 100 of its North America's Top 500 Technology Integrators list ranking at #91.
- In 2012, the company begins producing Network Hardware Resale-branded optics. For the 10th time, Inc. Magazine recognizes Network Hardware Resale in its annual Inc. 500|5000 list of fastest growing private companies in America. NHR joins Dell PartnerDirect program as a Premier Dell Partner, and UBM Channel recognizes NHR in CRN’s 2012 Solution Provider 500 list.
- In 2013, Network Hardware Resale announces global availability of Server and Storage solution, opens its 7th global office in Tokyo, Japan, and reaches an employee headcount of over 450. Network Hardware Resale becomes an Elite Partner of Arista Networks. UBM Tech Channel recognizes Hardware Resale on CRN's Solution Provider 500 List for 6th Consecutive Year.
- In 2014, Network Hardware Resale becomes Curvature.[7] In November, Curvature Acquires[8] CSU Industries to Expand Third-Party Maintenance Services.
