The Cypriot Third Division is the third tier football league competition in Cyprus, run by the Cyprus Football Association.
History
The Cypriot Third Division Championship was initiated by the Cyprus Football Association in the 1970–71 football season as the third level of Cypriot football. Season 1974–75 was not played due to the Turkish invasion of Cyprus.
Structure
Current format
Sixteen clubs are competing in the league, playing each other twice, once at home and once away, for a total of 30 games per team. The top three clubs are promoted to the Cypriot Second Division and the bottom three are relegated to the STOK Elite Division.
Previous format
From 1985–86 until 2014–15 season, fourteen clubs were competing in the league. they were playing each other twice, once at home and once away, for a total of 26 games per team. The top three clubs were promoted to the Cypriot Second Division and the bottom three teams were relegated to the Cypriot Fourth Division.
