Cyprus–Montenegro relations

Cyprus is officially recognized Montenegro on June 16, 2006. Diplomatic relations between the two countries were established on March 12, 2007.

Political relations

Cyprus is represented in Montenegro through its embassy in Belgrade (Serbia).[1] Montenegro is represented in Cyprus through its embassy in Athens (Greece).[2] Both countries have passed several of agreements in order to rule the cooperation between both countries.[3]

Economic cooperation

In 2012, the overall trade amounted to 676 thousand euros, of which Montenegro exported 19, 5 thousand euros, and imports 656 thousand. Investments from Cyprus to Montenegro in January–November 2012 amounted to 15 967 million Euros.[4]

Diaspora

An Association of Montenegrins and Friends of Montenegro in Cyprus was established in April 2005 in Limassol, where about 600 Montenegrins live.[4]
