DJ Aqeel is a DJ, singer and composer from India. He became known after his "Shake it Daddy Mix" song became very popular in early 2000. His popularity grew when his song "Tu Hai Wahi", a remix of the "Yeh Wada Raha" song from the 1982 movie of the same name, became popular in the 2000.[1]

Biography

DJ Aqeel lives in Mumbai with his wife Farah Khan Ali, who is the daughter of actor Sanjay Khan, and is the sister of the Bollywood actor Zayed Khan. The couple has one son and one daughter, Azaan born on 7 May 2002 and Fizaa born on 2 April 2005. He owned Hype Nightclub in Atria Mall in Worli, Mumbai, also in Delhi’s Hotel Shangrila and in Ludhiana known as Urban Hara(Hype)[2]

Arrest in Dubai

DJ Aqeel was arrested in Dubai in 2010 for carrying the party drug ecstasy.[3] He was released a few days later when after the authorities failed to prove that he had consumed the drug through tests conducted on him.[4]
