Personal life

Farah Khan married to DJ Aqeel in 1999. They have two children, a boy Azaan and a girl Fizaa.

In May 2015, Farah Khan Ali courted controversy when she blamed people sleeping on the streets in response to the guilty verdict in the Salman Khan hit and run case in which the actor was found guilty of running over people sleeping on footpath and killing one of the homeless men. She tweeted "The govt should be responsible for housing ppl.If no 1was sleeping on d road in any other country Salman wuld not have driven over anybody."

A district court instructed that an FIR be filed under IPC sections 153 (wantonly giving provocation with intent to cause riot), 153-A (promoting enmity between different groups and doing acts prejudicial to maintenance of harmony), 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace) and 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation).[5]

She later retracted her statement by offering an unconditional apology and tweeting "My ppl not sleeping on the road tweet is meant to mock the govt not d poor ppl Bec every govt is responsible to provide housing to its ppl". She followed this up with "And maybe we need to earmark roads where the homeless can sleep peacefully without the fear of being run over, roads that are bylanes" as a suggestion for "solutions to make sure that people don't die senselessly" which landed her in another controversy for her insensitivity towards the issue.[6]
