Dahleez (English: Threshold) is an Indian Hindi courtroom drama.

This television series is being broadcast on Star Plus. The series is produced by Fortune Productions of Farhan Salaruddin.[1] The series is being aired every night.[2]

Harshad Arora and Tridha Choudhury are playing the male and female lead roles respectively.[3] The series is a courtroom drama, based in Delhi, which will focus on the bureaucracy of India.[4] Harshad Arora is playing the role of a bureaucrat officer and Tridha Choudhury is playing the role of a lawyer.[2]

The title track 'Jiya re' has been penned by Superbia band and sung by Shaan.[5][6]

Plot

Set in the political and legal world of Delhi; this is a love story of Adarsh (Harshad Arora) and Swadheenta (Tridha Choudhury). Adarsh Sinha is an IAS Officer, who always supports truth and justice. Swadheenta Ramakrishanan is a lawyer hailing from Chennai, who always supports the poor and fights for the poor's rights and justice. Their goal is same but path is different.

Adarsh belongs to a family of high bureaucratic and legal stature. He is the middle one of three-son family. His mother Suhasini Sinha is a reputed senior advocate of the city. His father and elder brother are both bureaucratic officers, while his younger brother is an IPS officer. Adarsh himself is a bureaucrat placed with the Union Home Ministry. The marriage of elder son Jaideep was arranged by his mother with Jaya, while youngest son Abhay married his love Simmy without the consent of his family. Jaideep and Jaya have a loveless marriage. Swadheenta hails from a middle class South Indian family, who lives with her maternal uncle family in Chandni Chowk, Delhi.

In a friend's wedding function Adarsh sees Swadheenta and gets attracted to her at first sight. He thinks that she fits in well in his image of a soulmate. There at a dance face off in Sangeet ceremony, both perform good however the boy's side (Adarsh's friend) win and the girl's side (Swadheenta's friend) loses. While returning, Swadheenta forgets her phone where Adarsh finds it and saves her number. While going home with his brother Asad, some goons are encountered by Swadheenta where while attempting to call police, in a hurry she dials the last number on her mobile, which was Adarsh's number. On the call Adarsh threatens the goons by making them realise his reach in police department and thus he saves her.

A fresh law graduate, Swadheenta gets the challenge to fight from farmer's side against Ahuja constructions, Company of Simmi's father, who have captured farmer's land without giving compensation . Being very nervous, at her friend's wedding Swadheenta meets famous advocate Suhasini Sinha, who encourages her to fight the case and be positive.She gives her some tips. Meanwhile, Swadheenta and Adarsh have certain encounters where he tries to ask her out for coffee but she refuses. For the case, she tries to get land owner's papers from land revenue department. But gets late for her first hearing. Adarsh meets her on road and drops her to court, however this being her first case and as she is not prepared for it, she isn't able to say anything at court but succeeds in taking time of 2 days for hearing to be held. Though disheartened, her family and mamu cheer her up and she again sits to work and find evidences where Adarsh helps her and she agrees for the coffee. Through her wittiness and strong arguments she wins the case and the case is put on enquiry for 6 months. Then she goes for coffee with Adarsh where she gets a call from Suhasini asking her to assist her as an intern lawyer.

Regarding a case, Swadheenta goes to Faridabad to investigate, on Suhasini's orders. Coincidently, Adarsh becomes the leadng officer in the same case and travels to Faridabad as well. There, Adarsh and Swadheenta disguise as a married couple to gain accommodation and to make it easier to investigate the case. They soon become really good friends but, Suhasini tells Adarsh to come back as she has found a bride, named Vanshika, for him. He is disheartened, as he is in love with Swadheenta, but at his father's orders, decides to marry Vanshika and the wedding preparations begin.

After some convincing from his brothers, Adarsh decides that he should tell Swadheenta that he loves her to at least find out if she loves him. He finds her and finally confesses his love but she takes him to her house and introduces him to everyone including her fiancée, Jeevan, which breaks his heart. However, he accepts this as a competition to win Swadheenta's love. Adarsh later discovers that Jeevan had come to win a Bharatanatyam contest and Swadeenta's father had decided to get her married to his best student. Later Adarsh accept this as challenge to be the best student of Swadeenta's father within 12 days to win her love. Jevaan finds out about Adarsh's love for Swadheenta. Jeevan tells Swadheenta that it is obvious she is in love with Adarsh but she is the only one who is yet to realize her love. Swadheenta finally realizes her love and goes to confess her love for Adrash in Adrash and Vanshika's engagement ceremony. Swadheenta's brother, Asad, also goes as he loves Radhika, who is gettig engaged to Vanshika's brother at the same ceremony. Adarsh is over the top when Swadheenta tells him and confesses to his family that he does not love Vanshika, but loves Swadheenta. Radhika confesses her love for Asad to her family. The two families are against Adarsh and Swadheenta's relationship but the two are determines to get their families to agree to their marriage.

Later, Jaya files for a divorce as both she and Jaidev are unhappy in this marriage. This leads Suhasini to think that maybe Vanshika isn't the right girl or Adarsh after all and Adarsh and Swadheenta's marriage is fixed. However, Suhasini and Manohar actually are still against the marriage and plan to make Adarsh say no to the marriage himself.
