Raman's ex-wife, Shagun, lives with her boyfriend Ashok and Aditya, her son with Raman.Due to circumstances,Raman and Ishita marry each other .

Plot Summary

Raman Bhalla is a man who lives with his pregnant wife Shagun and their young son Aditya. His boss Ashok, a corrupt sexual predator, lusts for Shagun and attempts to seduce her with his wealth. Shagun and Ashok have an affair. Six months after the birth of their daughter Ruhi, Raman discovers Ashok and Shagun's affair and divorces Shagun, who leaves alongside Aditya to stay with Ashok.

Six years later, Raman becomes the CEO of his company. Ishita, a kindhearted dentist, is revealed to be his new neighbour. In spite of being sterile, she forms an emotional bond with Ruhi. Mihika, Ishita's sister, develops feelings for Mihir, who is Raman's best friend, but Raman's brother Romi also harbours feelings for Mihika. After Shagun attempts to regain custody of Ruhi, Raman and Ishita marry to prevent that from happening.

Although Raman is initially hostile towards her, the two gradually fall in love with each other. Meanwhile, Mihir and Mihika plan for their marriage, much to the chagrin of Romi. Problems begin to develop between Ashok and Shagun, who is forced to satisfy Ashok's clients and resists.

It is revealed that Shagun is Mihir's sister and her marriage is fixed with Ashok. The latter expresses interest in Mihika, consistently offering her a position as his employee and ultimately revealing his abhorrent intentions to her in a dressing room. Mihika plans to disclose Ashok's reality on his wedding day by attempting to seduce him but her plan backfires as Ashok drugs and strips her saree. Shagun bears witness to this and their marriage is called off. Ashok instead marries Mihika after threatening and blackmailing her. She refuses to be consummate the marriage, despite his attempts at intimacy. Mihir begins to hate Mihika as he is under the impression that she betrayed him. He marries Raman's sister Rinky, whose fiance Nikhil was revealed to have already been married to a girl named Amrita. This inspires Mihika to reveal the truth behind her relationship with Ashok to her family. Meanwhile, Raman and Ishita win Adi's custody and he come to live with the Bhalla's. At first he despises Ishita but slowly, he starts to accept her as his mother.

The widowed Dr. Subramaniam Chandran, Ishita's former love interest, arrives in her live seeking her forgiveness. She refuses to forgive him, citing that he enjoyed his married life without thinking of her. Raman, however, convinces her to forgive Subramaniam. Soon after, Romi marries a pregnant Sarika and she gives birth to their baby.

Miraculously, Raman and Ishita learn that Ishita is pregnant and celebrate with a picnic in the company of their families. Ashok plants a bomb in their vehicle but Ishita discovers this and saves everyone, in the process suffering a miscarriage.

Shagun becomes the surrogate mother of Raman and Ishita's child. She commits suicide soon after, which is followed by Rinki's murder. Suddenly it is known Shagun was alive and never died and it's revealed Ishita and Shagun made this plan to reveal Sarika's true colours to the family. Sarika is working for Ashok and trying to kill Raman. Sarika is exposed and it's revealed that Sarika didn't have a baby but it is Pallavi Chadda's child whom she sent it to an orphanage from where Sarika adopted him after having a miscarriage.

Mr. Chadda is hired by Raman to fight case for adoption for the child. He tortures his wife Pallavi and Ishita finds out. She tries to rescue Pallavi but accidentally kills Mr. Chadda. Ishita is arrested and no lawyer is willing to take the case. After so many refusals Nidhi who is the best lawyer in the country with every case won decides to take on the case as her competitor Suyash Chadda(brother of Mr.Chadda) is on the other end. Pallavi lies in the court that Ishita has murdered Mr. Chadda and the court is adjourned on that case.It is shown that Sarika gave an offer of getting Rohit back to Pallavi but she has to tell lie in the court that Ishita had murdered Mr. Chadda.

After that it is shown that Raman kills Ishita by throwing her from a cliff but he is just pretending that he had killed Ishita so that he can get that chip from Nidhi ,which proves that Ishita killed Mr. Chadda out of self defence. He pretends that he loves Nidhi but actually he wants that chip. Now, he is disrespecting his parents because of Nidhi just to save Ishita. Nidhi is suspecting Raman for Ishita's death as well and soon finds out that he did in fact kill her (in pretending).

Now, according to Raman's plan, Ishita comes back as Shanaya Raichand to get revenge from Nidhi and Ashok. No one apart from Raman and Mr. Raichand knows that Shanaya is actually Ishita. Later, Ruhi and Shravan came to know that she is Ishita and reveals it to the Iyer and Bhalla family. Nidhi's truth finally comes out and she is arrested but somehow she is set free.

Now it is shown that the new baby girl is born but Nidhi kidnapped the new baby and asks Ruhi for exchange. Ishita gets really scared and calls ACP Abhisheh for help but Raman made his own plan but Raman did not want police there. Raman goes with Ishita but Raman's plan get failed because Nidhi learns that Raman is with Ishita and tortures Raman by saying she will kill the baby. Ishita stops the car and Nidhi comes to Ishita and asks for Ruhi and says if she change her decision she will kill the baby she hands over Ruhi and Ruhi cries Ishita gets her baby. Abhishek comes there and Raman too. Ishita says to them to follow Nidhi later somehow they met an accident and everyone thinks that Ruhi is dead. Raman starts to hate Ishita because of this and blames her for Ruhi's death breaking all ties with her. Ishita goes to the same place where the accident took place and there was a deep trench an she jumped off causing everyone to think is dead.

Seven Years Later

It is shown that Ishita is alive in Australia. It is revealed that Ishita's childhood best friend Mani, had saved her from drowning but had met with an accident in the process and now cannot walk. In order to make him better, Ishita, Mani, his niece Aaliya and nephew Vivaan, moved to Australia. Aaliya and Vivaan had lost their parents and as Ishu and Mani took care of them they now call them Amma and Appa but Ishu and Mani are not actually married. It is also shown that Raman and Ishita's daughter has grown up to look exactly like Ruhi, when she was younger and is named Pihu. Pihu lives with Raman and the rest of the Bhalla family, who still lives in Delhi. Pihu's personality is very much same with Ruhi's. Pihu is just a bit more Indian Punjabi girl and loves watching TV serials. Raman and Shagun act as if they are married however, they are not. Pihu thinks Shagun is her real mother not knowing anything about Ishita. Adi is shown to have grown up worshipping Ishita and loving her a lot, in fact, we can see many glimpses of Ishita in Adi.

It is revealed that on the night of Ruhi's death, Romi had broken all ties with the Bhalla Family due to Raman blaming Romi for the kidnapping of newborn Pihu. This had turned into a very heated argument. He had promised to only return once he had become something. Then, everyone got the news of Ishita's suicide and Iyer family, especially Mihika, blamed Raman for this. After this, Mihika and Romi left together. Due to this, Iyer and Bhalla families hate each other. Now Adi and Pihu make it their job to bring the two families together, though Pihu doesn't know what actually happened. Pihu goes to Iyer house and sees Ishita's photo having a garland on it and Ishita's mother tells her that she is her daughter and she is no more.

Later on, it is shown that Nidhi is alive and is the manager of a music show for a teenager called Ruhaan that Aaliya attends. Pihu and Shravan love the music of Ruhaan. It is shown that Ruhaan is actually Ruhi. Nidhi has threatened Ruhi and has made her wear man's clothes. Nidhi poisoned Ruhi's mind that her Ishita doesn't care for her and abandoned her for the sake of her own child. But Ruhi doesn't know that Ishita was thrown away from the house and is living in Australia and is supposed to be dead. Mani has a surgery due to which he can now walk again and but Mani started to fall in love with Ishita, he also asks Aliya if he can marry Ishita and Aliya tells to him to propose Ishita.

Aaliya takes Ruhaan aka Ruhi to her home since Ruhi was having a toothache and Ishita could treat her. At that time Ruhi meets Ishita but Ishita doesn't recognise her. Raman gets the Business Excellence award of Delhi but it turns out to be a tie. Raman has to share the award with Romi. Due to this, Raman decides not to accept the award. Romi has decided to marry Mihika and she accepts his proposal. Romi has made Ashok his business partner. Ishita feels a strong connection with Ruhi / Ruhaan. Ishita hears Ruhi's voice as she was shouting because she has an attack when she calls her. Ruhi doesn't wanted to see or meet her so she tells her to go. Ishita gives Ruhi's medicines to her governess Nancy and leaves. Mani proposes Ishita the next day but she refuses and says she is only Raman's and Ishita loves only Raman and the relation between Mani and her is only friendship.

It is also shown that Raman decides to let Shagun marry someone else as she is staying at the Bhalla's house as Pihu's mother without marrying Raman. Shagun refuses because she would only live with Pihu as her mother to pay the debt of Ishita. Raman suffers a great lost because his business rival his brother Romi bribes people to take the which Raman is bidding for Raman commands Mihir to search some international which is suffering and from the list there is a company called Ishra, Mani's company. Raman decides to call the owner when Ishita receives the call but they do not recognise each other. Ishita sees Raman's award function on television and assumes that Shagun is Raman's wife.

Raman decides to go to Australia for business but Pihu wants to go with him to see Ruhaan and Raman agrees. Pihu sees Ishita and recognizes her but Ishita doesn't see her. Pihu decides to tell Adi. The next day she gets locked in the wash room. Coincidentally, Ishita is also in that wash room and hears Pihu crying. She calls someone to help her but couldn't meet her. Ruhi gets very angry after seeing Ishita and starts feeling dizzy. Pihu recognizes her and asks Raman to help Ruhaan. Raman takes Ruhaan to his room after which Ishita also reaches there. Though, they don't meet as there's a power cut in the hotel. Pihu tells Shagun that she saw Ishita in Australia. Shagun comes to Australia to search Ishita but couldn't find her. Ruhaan agrees to become icon of both Ishita and Raman's company. Ruhaan refuses to board flight. Both Ishita and Raman are going to Mumbai for ad campaign but their flight is hijacked. Romi is stealing Raman's data to ruin him but Simmi stops him.Ramn signs a contract with Ruhaan and Ishita gets the same idea and they both have a few hits and misses.Shravan thinks that Aliya is Alia Bhatt and runs away from home.Ishita,Mani and Aliya go to Mumbai for the shoot of Ruhaan.Ruhaan signs an exclusive contract with Raman so that he doesnt meet Ishita.During the flight a mad lover hijacked the plane.Ishita gets shot and Raman unknowingly brings her to hospital.
