The Killers concert chronology

The Day & Age World Tour was the third concert tour by the Las Vegas based band The Killers, in support of their third studio album Day & Age. The tour saw The Killers break new ground visiting every continent minus Antarctica, it was also the 44th highest grossing tour worldwide during 2009.

The band's first live DVD, titled Live from the Royal Albert Hall, was filmed during two London shows on July 5 and 6, 2009.

Synopsis

Ray Suen (Keyboards, Guitar, Violin) and Tommy Marth (Saxophone) joined the band as additional musicians on this tour. Vannucci's drum tech Rob Whited (Percussion) and Keuning's guitar tech Bobby Lee Parker (Acoustic Guitar) also performed on certain songs. The band played warm up gigs in major cities across North America & Europe, and appeared at US Holiday Festivals during the end of 2008. The tour proper started in Boulder, Colorado on January 16, 2009. They later embarked on a huge European arena tour. After completing the third leg of their US tour, the band toured Latin America, also visiting the United Arab Emirates and South Africa, which was the band's first visit to the African continent. The schedule tour of Asia in January 2010 was cancelled following the passing of Brandon Flowers mother, a number of dates in Oceania were also cancelled; the band did however play the final two shows, wrapping up the tour at the Good Vibrations Festival in Melbourne, Australia on February 21, 2010.

Stage Setup

The stage setup included palm trees, tiger print flooring and a giant light bulb keyboard stand in the shape of the K from the band's logo.

Notable Shows

The band headlined major US festivals Lollapalooza and Coachella for the first time, they also headlined V Festival Australia and many European festivals. Bonus footage from the band's Live from the Royal Albert Hall DVD includes festival performances in the UK and Ireland at Oxegen, V & Hard Rock Calling. The band also played a special show in aid of the charity War Child at Shepherds Bush Empire, London in February 2009 along with Coldplay. At the end of Coldplay's set The Killers joined them on stage along with Bono and Gary Barlow to perform The Killers hit "All These Things That I've Done".
