Dayton is a census-designated place in LaSalle County, Illinois, United States. The community was built along the Fox River a few miles north of Ottawa. As of the 2010 census, its population was 537.[2]

A large share of the early settlers being natives of Dayton, Ohio caused the name to be selected.[3]
