Restaurant De Brave Hendrik was a restaurant located in Hendrik-Ido-Ambacht, Netherlands. It was a fine dining restaurant that was awarded one Michelin star in the period 1990-1996.[2][3][4]

The restaurant was originally named In den Brave Hendrik and located at Kerkstraat 7,[5][6] but later renamed to De Brave Hendrik and housed at Kerkstraat 30.[7]

Henk van Ark and head chef Jan Klein owned the restaurant from 1982 until 1994, when Klein left to start restaurant Hermitage in Rijsoord.[8][9][10]

In 1996, the restaurant became the second restaurant in the Netherlands to voluntarily give up its Michelin star. Restaurant 't Misverstant did this in 1994.[11][12]

The restaurant closed down in the period 1996-2000, with the Michelin Guide of 2001 mentioning a restaurant Sandelingen at the address of the former De Brave Hendrik.[13]
