Deadwood, Siskiyou County, California

Deadwood, was a gold mining camp, near Fort Jones during the 1850s in Siskiyou County, California.[1] The word deadwood was a typical gold miner's expression meaning 'sure thing'. During the Gold Rush era it was applied to numerous camp.[2]
