Dennis Walter Argall (born 7 July 1943) is a retired Australian diplomat and senior career officer with the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT). He was Australia’s Ambassador to China from 1985 until 1985.[1]
Biography
Argall was born in New South Wales and his parents were Plymouth Brethren in orientation. His father worked for the Commonwealth Bank of Australia and he grew up in Newcastle, Sydney, and Maryborough before returning to Sydney. He attended Newington College (1955–1959)[2] and completed a Bachelor of Arts degree with honours in anthropology at the University of Sydney.[3]
