Dhurnal is a town and Union Council, an administrative subdivision, of Chakwal District in the Punjab Province of Pakistan, it is part of Talagang Tehsil[1] and is located at 32°47'60N 72°5'60E.[2] Surrounded by Soon Valley from south, Thoa Mahram Khan from east, the greater Lawa from west and Kot Qazi, Mial etc. from north.

This constitutes the overall population of about 70,000. Dhurnal is the most Important and one of the dense population Union Council of the Chakwal (District). A person from Dhurnal is Muhammad Rehan Qazi Founder & CEO at Bridge Asia Group (pvt.) Limited., Connect Asia, Discover Asia and some other ventures in Pakistan and he also initiated Bridge India, Connect India and many other ventures in New Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Ahmedabad and Bangalore in India. Muhammad Rehan Qazi presented his country on various global events, some organized by UNDP, Asia Social Innovation Camp, Singapore, Seoul, South Korea, Jakarta, Indonesia etc. Social Ventures Hong Kong, International Conference on Frontiers of Information Technology 2012, Asia Social Innovation Award 2012 and Gandhian Young Technology Innovation Awards 2013. Few other peoples from the soil are Munir Musawir a globally acclaimed painting artist awarded by Konica, Japan and also organizing an art gallery at nearby NAMAL College in Namal Valley of Brad Ford University, England. Syed Basim Ali Bukhari Assistant Director At NADRA Islambad and Muhammad Ahmad Ali System Network Administrator At PTCL Islamabad.

Education Hub

Dhurnal is an emerging education city and technology hub for surrounding areas.

University

Allama Iqbal International Open University is establishing its campus in Dhurnal near Rati Dheri point in the mid of 2016. It would be only campus of AIOU even in the whole Chakwal District.

Jamia Ghosia Anwar-ul-Quran and Jamia Khulfa-e-Rashideen are offering degree programs in islamic studies to boys and girls of area.

GC College

There are 2 Govt. Degree Colleges in Dhurnal, one for boys located near Tarhada chowk and Food Village, another for girls which is located in north-western corner of the city near ancient landmark of Rati Dheri.

A great strength of girls have joined GC Dhurnal from Surrounding areas i.e: Mial, Kot Qazi, Leti, Pichnand, Kot Shams, Bidhar, Wanhar, Danda Shah Bilawal, Thoa Mahram Khan, Dhulli, Balwal and Gattal.

Schools

There are 6 Govt. High Schools in Dhurnal, 2 for boys (North campus and west campus) and 1 for girls located in Dhurnal and other 3 are located in 2 of its dense populated villages Balwal (1 for girls and other 1 for boys) and Gattal (only 1 boys high school).

Elementary and primary schools are on a large scale because the area is stretched.

Private sector has also great schools here like Zia Academy, Musawir Academy, Misali School, Sir Syed Public School, Shaheen Public, Sirat e mustaqeem school, Paradise public and Paragon public schools in Dhurnal. And Ghazali Public Schools in Balwal and Gattal.
