Series 2 (2009–10) January 23, 2009-February 18, 2009
A second series of an additional 40 episodes[8][9] commenced airing. Shaun the Sheep in the United States of America, Canada, and New Zealand on January 23, 2009 – February 18, 2009 (November 23-December 18, 2009)/January 2010 (May 2010)/July 2010 (July 2010)/December 15-17 2010. Shaun the Sheep in the United Kingdom on 23 November 2009 on BBC One and BBC HD.[10] It had already started airing in Germany on 18 October 2009. The series director was Chris Sadler. This series was shot with digital camera still images that were edited into high definition video. There were major changes in the look of the characters (e.g. Bitzer and Pidsley now have fur), and the title sequence was also adapted to reflect these changes.

Two evil bungling alien scientists transport Pidsley the cat and Shaun aboard their flying saucer. Unfortunately, a foolish error causes the aliens to swap the animals' brains around. Shaun and Pidsley are dumped back to Earth, not realising they are in the wrong bodies – leading to much confusion around the farm before the aliens return to correct their mistake.[16] At the end, everyone's brains were also swapped. | |||

Shaun, however, hopes to tempt Bitzer to return with the kennel of his dreams.[16] | |||

While trying to retrieve his ball, Bitzer falls into a muddy pond. A muddy creature emerges, and Shaun becomes convinced the sheep are being attacked by a swamp monster. Shortly after they decide that the swamp monster is Bitzer and try to clean him up, the sheep realize they are cleaning up a real swamp monster and must find the real Bitzer.[18] | |||

After getting covered in soot, two hapless ducks are mistaken for a pair of rare African Zebra Ducks. Seeing a way to make money, the farmer transforms Shaun's field into an exotic duck enclosure, which he gleefully opens to the public. Shaun doesn't appreciate losing his field and sets about exposing the fraud, while Bitzer tries to stop him frmo doing so.[18] | |||

Bitzer is back without fur, and the bull has changed. All episodes premiered in Germany on the KiKa channel between 30 November and 9 December 2012. In the UK, it ran between 25 February 2013 and 21 March 2013 on the CBBC channel.

Shaun the Sheep 3D (2012)
The following is a list of 1-minute stereoscopic 3D shorts created by Aardman for the Nintendo 3DS' Nintendo Video service.[79] These shorts used a slightly smaller team of artists than the main series.[80] Beginning on 15 January 2016, the shorts were released every Friday on the official Shaun the Sheep YouTube channel as "Mossy Bottom Shorts". These versions lack the 3D effect found on the Nintendo 3DS but have high-definition resolution.[81]
