Downieville-Lawson-Dumont is a census-designated place (CDP) in Clear Creek County, Colorado, United States. The CDP includes the small unincorporated communities of Downieville, Dumont, and Lawson along Clear Creek and Interstate 70 west of Idaho Springs, Colorado. The CDP population was 594 at the 2010 census.[1]
Geography
Downieville-Lawson-Dumont is located at 39°45′59″N 105°36′55″W / 39.76639°N 105.61528°W (39.766277, -105.615234).[2]
According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 0.9 square miles (2.3 km2), all of it land.
Demographics
As of the census[3] of 2000, there were 364 people, 143 households, and 101 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 423.7 people per square mile (163.4/km²). There were 156 housing units at an average density of 181.6 per square mile (70.0/km²). The racial makeup of the CDP was 93.13% White, 1.65% Native American, 4.12% from other races, and 1.10% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 7.42% of the population.
There were 143 households out of which 28.0% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 55.9% were married couples living together, 10.5% had a female householder with no husband present, and 28.7% were non-families. 20.3% of all households were made up of individuals and 4.2% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.55 and the average family size was 2.98.
In the CDP the population was spread out with 25.0% under the age of 18, 7.7% from 18 to 24, 30.5% from 25 to 44, 29.9% from 45 to 64, and 6.9% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 39 years. For every 100 females there were 119.3 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 118.4 males.
The median income for a household in the CDP was $47,813, and the median income for a family was $49,808. Males had a median income of $29,375 versus $22,188 for females. The per capita income for the CDP was $18,560. None of the families and 1.7% of the population were living below the poverty line, including no under eighteens and none of those over 64.
