Dušan Pavlović (professor)

Dušan Pavlović (Serbian Cyrillic: Душан Павловић, born in April 1969), is Serbian political economist, political analyst, author and politician.

Pavlović was born in Zagreb, Croatia. Between 1990 and 1993, while a student in Belgrade, Pavlović was a founder member of rockabilly band Vampiri.[1]

Pavlović received his BA degree from the Faculty of Political Sciences at the University of Belgrade in 1994, and MA and Ph.D. degrees from the from the Central European University in Budapest in 1997 and 2003 respectively.[2] Since 2005, he teaches political economy with public choice at the Faculty of Political Sciences in Belgrade, where he currently holds the title of an associate professor. His areas of interest are political economy of democratic institutions, and rational and public choice theory.[3][2]

Between 1999 and 2005, he worked at the Institute for European Studies, the G17 institute and the Jefferson Institute in Belgrade.[2] Between September 2013 and January 2014, Pavlović was an advisor to the Minister of Economy, position held by his close friend Saša Radulović[4] When Radulović left the position, disappointed by the inner workings of the government, Pavlović joined him. Together, they formed the Enough is Enough movement, advocating changes in Serbian political culture, which has eventually raised to the level of a political movement. On the Serbian parliamentary election, 2016, the movement won 6.02% of the vote and 16 seats in the National Assembly. Pavlović, second on the list, is expected to take a position of an MP.[5]

His works include Consolidation of Democratic Institutions in Serbia after 2000 (2007), Writings in Political Economy (2010).[3][6] He authored a number of articles in Politika, Danas,[7] Vreme[8] and other newspapers.
